Detailed itinerary of the private day tour of Scotland.
Highlights: Stirling castle, the Trossachs National Park, Loch Lomond.
Enjoy a day exploring the Trossachs with its stunningly beautiful views of shimmering lakes and mountains cloaked in forests, an ancient castle perched upon a rugged crag, and one of the most beautiful lakes in Scotland.
Leaving Edinburgh in the morning, we'll set our sights upon the medieval stronghold of Stirling Castle.
Across the ages, Stirling Castle has seen many transformations, now its medieval structures beautifully restored, intermingling with lush lawns, vibrant flower beds, hidden staircases, serene nooks, and shadowy dungeons. From its fortress walls, breathtaking vistas unfold, capturing the town of Stirling and the rolling highland hills beyond.
Next, our journey leads us into the embrace of the Trossachs National Park.
The road winds through hills draped in ancient forests and heather, weaving between valleys adorned with picturesque lakes, passing by Deanston Distillery, charming hamlets, and the famed Loch Katrine, a waterway woven into the novels of Sir Walter Scott. Often hailed as the "Scottish Highlands in Miniature," the Trossachs National Park is a perfect introduction to Scotland's natural beauty.
Following lunch in a pub, we'll venture to one of Scotland's most captivating lakes – Loch Lomond.
Loch Lomond, a beloved retreat for Scots, marks the gateway to the Highlands, where the southernmost Munro, Ben Lomond, stands guard over the lake. It boasts the distinction of being Scotland's largest lake, stretching around 38 kilometers in length and spanning up to 8 kilometers at its widest point. Scattered across its waters are 37 islands, some so petite that only a few pines take root. The eastern shore of Loch Lomond is especially captivating, adorned with tranquil, untouched beaches and untamed wilderness that beckon the curious soul.
